Here we introduce the KAHLEPartners skill pyramid of the project management profession tracing how Behaviors lead to Practices which, in turn, are expressed through powerful Techniques. We then survey the 5 practices that KAHLEPartners believes are the most important for project manager success. Although we only have time to peel back the surface layers of each practice, we share fundamental principles and important conceptual understandings that will build awareness needed for the deeper dives we take on these practices in later videocasts.
In the first show we discuss the central role that behaviors play in organizational success and explore the first two behaviors of "Modeling Confidence" and "Assuming the Best".
In the second show we conclude the discussion around the 5 Most Important PM Practices by addressing "Establishing One Truth...and Keeping It", "Mastering Explaining Yourself", and the importance of "Making Lists....". We address important issues of your awareness to the political and cultural environment around you and how your choices (about how diligent you intend to be in following these practices), are interpreted by your stakeholders as a reflection of your credibility as a PM.
